(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ALLEGED BIGAMY. XAPIER, this day. Arthur Graham Owen was committed for trial on a charge of making a false declaration to the Registrar of Marriages at Christchurch. The prosecution stated tnat accused had declared himself a bachelor, and had gone through the ceremony of marriage with Ruth Muter, he having previously gone through the same ceremony witn a woman named Minnie Schmitt at Adelaide. According to a statement made by accused, the Adelaide marriage was not legal, because he had a wife living in England then.
