N.Z. AXEMAN'S ASSOCIATION.

ELTHAM, this day.

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Axemen's Association was held last night. The Mayor (G. W. Tayler) presided. The annual report showed that during the year there had been a large increase in the number of axemen registered and clubs affiliated with the Association. The number of axemen licensed was 534, as against 307 last year, an increase of 227. The number of affiliated clubs increased from i 6 to 51. The year's operations resulted in a credit balance of £45 4/5. The assets of the Association now amount to £238 6/10, of which £212 15/10 is in hard cash.
