HAMILTON NOTES.
LOST MAN'S EXPERIEXCE.
(Bj Telegiaph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON. Tuesday. In spite of the unprecedented expenditure in the shape of loan money last year, and the huge amount which yet remains to be spent, the Hamilton Borough Council has been able to reduce the rate from ljd to ljd on unimproved values amounting to £ 2-28,736. The receipts for the year are estimated at £3294. The waterworks rate was reduced by 20 per cent. A man named Higgins was lost in the bush of Mr. Wylie's farm, at Tirauamoa, on Monday. A large search party of settlers went out and found him yesterday suffering greatly from cold and exposure.
