More correspondence was considered by the Education Board this morning respecting the protest of Mr _"rost in connection with the election of the Pukeatua School Committee. In the discussion, Mr Harris expressed the opinion that great injury was often done to parents who had children by the interference of people who had none. Respecting the particular protest under consideration, everything had been done in accordance with the requirements, and the voting papers were handed out by the teacher, who acted as scrutineer. It was decided to uphold the Board's previous decision that not sufficient evidence was forthcoming to warrant another election being ordered.
At a meeting of- the shareholders it was decided to confirm a resolution to voluntarily wind up the affairs of Fowler's yitallie Company, limited.
The grand rainbow fair, in aid of St. Paul's organ fund, will be opened by his Worship the Mayor, to-morrow afternoon, in the Choral HalL Attractive programmes have been arranged, and full stalls of work of even- description jpjcovided.
