WATHI GRAND JUNCTION. LOW LEVEL DEVELOPMENT. INCEEASTXG WIDTH OF MARTHA LODE. (From Our Own Correspondent) WAIHI, Tuesday. The development of the Martha and No. 2 lodes at No. 4 level, is 4 proceeding expeditously at the Grand j Junction Company's mine, and a length j of fully 600 ft. is now opened up on the line of the Martha for stoping purposes. Stoping operations, however, will not be undertaken until the various winzes sunk below No. 3 level are connected •with No. 4. The works at No. 3 and No. 2 levels are producing a very huge quantity of crushing material, the stopes proving very resourceful. With a view to showing the increasing width of the Martha lode in the Grand Junction section, as depth is attained it may be stated that at No. 2 level the reef is I lift, wide, at No. 3 level 21ft., whilst at No. 4 level the width of stone has increased to 32ft. This comparison is interesting, and provides ample demonstration of the rapid make of ore going downward, and at the same time affords a most encouraging outlook as regards future low level developments.
