The New York correspondent of "The Times" says the result of the election has had a sob ring effect upon both parties, and both are disappointed. Mr. Hearst says he is resolved to continue the fight against the control of tho Government by trusts and corrupt corporanons, and he will be ready to serve if not allowed to 1 ad. "The Times" saj-s that though Mr. Hearst is beaten he certainly is not finally discomfited. President Roosevelt is said to be disgusted at the smallness of the Republican majority.
