The annual sports gathering in connection with the Telegraph Office was held on the Domain grounds this morning. There was a good attendance of officers and their friends. A programme consisting of eight events was gone through. Every event was keenly contested. The results are as follows:— Messengers' championship, 150 yards: Edwards 1, Hunter 2, Bateman 3. Ladies' bracelet: Vivian 1, Pooley 2, Malum 3. Half-mile handicap: O'Brien 1, Menzies 2, Edwards 3. Officers' championship: Doull 1, Baggs 2, Simons 3. Three-legged race: Vivian and Slyfield 1, Simon, and Doull 2. Messengers' handicap, 300 yds: Edwards 1, Bateman 2, Hampton 3. Hop, step and jump: Doull 1, 38ft. 6in.; Vivian 2, 38ft sin.; Simons 3, 3Sft. 4in.
Bush is again to captain the Cardiff Club this year. It is proba. le that Gwynn Nicholls. captain' of the team which defeated the AH "Blacks, will emerge from his retirement to meet the South African-.
