ONEHUNGA.
The fortnightly meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council was held in the Council Chamber last night. There were present: The Mayor .(Mr; A. 11. Gordon) in the chair, Crs. Moody, Hutchison, Blyth, Barr, 3forton, Osborne, and;. Williams. Water Consumption.—The turncock reported that during the past fortnight 1,500,000 gallon's, of water had' been pumped, to the reservoir. Financial.—The town clerk made the usual fortnightly financial statement, after which accounts amounting to £150 10/10 were passed for payment.. : Drainage.—Mr S. J; H-odkfield, secretary, of the School Committee, wrote "intimating : that the Council's letter re drainage, from the high school grounds had been referred to the Education Board; -• - j Distress Warrants.—The boroughf' "solicitors wrote intimating that the levies for distraint against two. women had failed, but one had a property which they could proceed against. On the hTotlbhof the Mayor, it was agreed-to instruct the solicitors to act. • , Blockhouse.—The Reserve Committee recommended that the Council get a suitable tenant for the occupation *of the blockhouse. This was agreed to. Water Channel.—Cr. Barr moved upon ! notice, "That Church-street north »be kerbed and channelled from (Jueen-street to Beach-road, alternative tenders to be called for concrete or cube channelling." It was agreed that the matter be referred to the Finance and Streets Committee to report upon. -
