HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD FINANCE.

A summary of the receipts and expenditure of the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was submitted at yesterday's meeting by the Finance Committee. The items of revenue were as follows:—Balance at bank, April Ist, J906, £2153 8/6; hospital fess, £-$68 2/1; Costley Home fees, £510 11/10; garden, Costley Home, £577 17?1; pensions (gross), £1444 18/8; benevolent societies (including subsidies), £1448 6/6; charitable aid recoveries, £315 3/9; local bodies, ordinary contributions, £10,746 17/3; local-bodies contributions (infectious), . £491 17/1; subsidies, £11,200 13/4;. voluntary contributions, refunds, etc., £1356 3/7; total, f33113 19/8. The items of expenditure were: — Hospital maintenance,'less Infectious Diseases Hospital, £15,528 13/4; infectious diseases, £785 18/4; hospital buildings, £1511 15/3; Costley Home maintenance, £6504 5/8; Costley Home buildings, £1237.3/2; charitable aid, £4589 17/5; benevolent societies, f905; office and miscellaneous, £1074 18/5T refunds, £439 S/9; road contract,.£so; credit balance. 31st March, £486 18/10; total, £33,113 19/8. In answer to Mr. Casey, the chairman said the BoaTd collected- about -25 per cent, of -the hospital fees payable. And the percentage was higher than that collected by any other Board in the colony.
