(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WArHI, this day. The United Friendly Societies' Hospi- | tal Sunday demonstration took place yesterday, and was a great success. A procession headed by the Waihi Band (Major j Kenrick marshal), and consisting of the borough councillors, hospital trustees, fire brigade, Rechabites, Foresters,. Droids, Hibernians, Oddfellows* volunteers, Miners' Union, Salvation Army,, and San-day-school children, marched to the hospital grounds, where addresses were delivered by representatives -of the friendly societies, clergy, etc. Anthems were sung by the united choirs. Collections amounting to £60 were taken in aid-of the new infectious diseases ward. A bowling match between Paeroa and Waihi, took place on the local green on Saturday, and resulted in a win for Paeroa by 86 to 43, as follows:—Hamilton's team beat Langford's, 32 to 14; Appleby's team beat Dorance's, 28 to 21: Bray's team beat Herd's, 28 to 8.
