FRENCH CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Auckland French Club, held ln St. Paul's schoolroom on Thursday evening, and presided over by M. Boeufve, was largely attended, his Excellency Admiral Sir Wilniat Fawkes and Lady Fawkes being' among those present. The following officers were elected. —M. Boeufve. president; Mr A. Winter, secretary; Mrs A. M. Myers and Mr Delievre, vice-presidents; Messrs Drummond. Francis, librarians; Mes-dames Boeufve, Colegrove, Nellgan and Peacoeke. Messrs Clarke, Gresiiam, T. Mahoney, and Bruce Wallace, committee; Messrs E. M.ihony and Walker, auditors. The new members were elected:—Mr Justice Chapman, Dr. Goring (Hamilton). Dr. and Mrs Hertz, Mr and Mrs H. Keimers, Mesdames A. Buchanan and Keogh. Misses Draffin. H. Draffln. Large. Blumenthal, Paton. and Benjamin. The chairman announced that Mr C. C. MacMlllan had presented a number of French books. A farce, "'Chambre 25," was played by thef following cast:—-M. Augratin. Mr D. .Nathan; Mmme. Aueratin, Miss Peacoeke; Mine. Partrovive, Miss G. Nathan; M. Perdrufln. Mr Balham; two lodgers. Misses S. find D. Nathan: a servant. M. A. Boeufve The medals presented by L'Alllance Francals were awarded by the committee to Messrs A. Winter and Balham. Madame Boeufve gave, her reading of "Calais a Douvres by earnest request: M Balham r*}? President, on behalf of the club, thanked Admiral and Lady Fawkes for being present, and for the Interest they had taken ln the club. At the next conference the question, "Should CorES^ 1 K Pl ?, tahment be I-fllcted In Schools?" will be discussed.
