ARATAPU ATHLETIC CLUB ANNTfAL SPORTS. Tbe annual sports of the aborve club were held in Mr T. Webb's paddock on Satarday last. Tbe weather was windy and threatening, but the ratn kept off. Tbero were between three and four bnndred people present, brft the attendance werold no doubt bav-e been larger had the weather been more like what it ought to have, been at this season of the year. The following are the results of the competitions:— Boys" Race under 14, 100yds.—F. Borland 1. F. (Jlinfce 2. Girls' a*ee, nnder 14, lOOyds.—L. Anderson J, Ivy Frood 2. 100 yds MaMen Race..—Wiri Kiri 1. U Nielrl 2. Five started. A good race, restating in close finish. Aratapu Handicap, JJSOyUa.—First heat: J. Miller 1, 1,. Nield 2. Second heat: \V. HarrlsoD and T. Bright a tie. Third heat: Wiri Kiri 1. C. Cobbald 2. Secondary heats: C. Cobbald 1. T. Bright 2: L. Nield 1. Wiri Kiri 2. Final heat: C. Cobbald. 16 yds. 1; L. Nield, 14yds, 2: T. Bright, 15yds, 3. The heats were closely contested, and the winner was not easily picked till the anal was finished. 300 yds Youths' Race, over IS and under 21.— W. Pivott, 20yds, 1; W. Donaldson, 16yds, 2. One Mile Handicap.—H. Kidd, scratch, 1; W. Montgomery, scratch, 2; R. Mitchell, 100 yds, 3. This was won fairly easily. The third man walked in, the other five competitors dropped out. One Mile Handicap Bicycle.—C. Piper, 60yds behind scratch, 1; C. Maberly, 40yds behind scratch. 2; G. Vause, 18Oyds, 3. The first two were Auckland men on racing bikes. They were too good for local talent. 75yds Handicap.—First heat: Wiri Kiri 1, A. Dickman 2. Second beat: R. Morris 1, L. Xield 2. Secondary heats: Morris 1, Dickrnan 2; Nield 1, Bright 2. Final heat: A. Dickman, 7yds, 1; L. Nield, 7yds 2; T. Bright, Byds. 3. 300 yds Cigar and Umbrella Race.—C. Krui 1, G. Keane 2. Easily won by Kruk. Half Mile Handicap.—C. Cobbald, 60yds, 1: G. Vanse, 70yds, 2; R. Montgomery) 20 yds. S. A good handicapped race close finish. Time, 2m 13s. I T-wo Mile Bike.—Topia 1, W. Cos 2, G.
