Strauchon (Commissioner of Crown Lands at Wellington), Humphries (Commissioner of Crown Lands in Canterbury), and Roberts (Commissioner of Crown Lands in Westland) are Baid to be in the running for the Surveyor-Generalship, the chances being !in favour of the first-named.
