Sales were effected at the Art Society's exhibition yesterday of Mrs E. MWalrond's pictures, "On the Pelorus," £5 5/, "Near Parua Bay," £2 2/, and "Beyond Cox's Creek," £3 3/. Sale* in one or two other • pictures are pendYesterday afternoon the ladies of the Socie y gave an afternoon tea at the Gallery, and a large number of visitors partook of their hospitality. Mrs A. E. T. Devore presided, and the following committee of ladies supervised" the distribution of the' tea: Mesdaines A. M. .Myers, Corbett, Gillies, Shera, Mitcheison, Ball, Donald, Ay ling, Brown, Young, Wilson, Davis, Finlayson, Ambery, Bridson, Allerwell, Tisdale, Coleman; Hickson, Evans, Wait, Kronfeldt, ' Kent, Vaile, Misses Eyre, Faldwell. Yon Meyern, Pilcher, McKay, Messrs.' Gillies and O'Brien.
