Dr. Casement Aiekin, M.8.. of the Otago University, who has been appointed to the staff of resident medical officers at the Auckland Hospital, arrived from Dunedin by the Rarawa today. He assumes duties on Monday. Dr. Aiekin is a son of Mr C- Aiekin, the well-known land agent, and he was educated at the Auckland Grammar SchooL i Two men named Robert and Lowrie Smith were brought to Auckland by the police to-day from Cambridge, having been committed for trial yesterday upon a charge of forgery. Mr. F. E. Banme has given notice to move at the meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board on Tuesday, "That the Board's engineer be instructed to advise the Board in writing in relation to the recommendations and suggestions contained in Messrs.
