(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA. this day. William Frew, engine-driver at Fredsberg's flajsmiil, met with a very serious accident this morning. He was assisting to replace the belt on the stripper when his hand caught in the~belt, and he was dragged 30 or 40 times round with the belt, whic-h finilly coiled up i about him. His arm was stripped of j flesh from the shoulder to the hand, and the bone laia bare. Hu arm and one leg were broken, and he was carried on a stretcher to Paeroa. where lie was attended by Dr. Smith and ranoved to the Thames Hospital by train. TTte condition is critical. The injured mas i≤ unmarried.
