A HANDSOME GIFT. (P.y Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Archdeacon Fancourt, who is about to leave the colony on a visit to England, was last evening presented with an address and 500 guineas by the parishioners of St. Paul's. THE LICENSING BILL. HOKITIKA, this day. Mr Steve Boreham, the Labour leader, addressed a. public meeting last evening on the evils of prohibition, and the following resolution was carried: "That in the opinion of this meeting of Westland electors it would be in the interests of the people of the colony to urge upon the Premier to reintroduce the Licensing Bill of last session, and that the Government and Parliament be respectfully aaked to endeavour to pass the bill into law, especially clauses 9 and 14."
