In this case the competitors wore required to swim across the dock, drink a bottle of mineral water, li-ht a cigar, and swim hack to the start-ing-point with the cigar alight and carrying an umbrella. Next came a display by six members ox the club equipped with wateT wings. This novelty enables a non-swimmer to float with ease and confidence, while beginners are so assisted by the hMp of these wines that all of entirely disappears.-No exertion Is necessary, so the bather's whole attention may be devoted to aeQulrlng different methods of propnlsion, the water wings being equally applicable for back swimming or breast stroke.
