WAIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The last meeting for the year of the Waihi Borough Council was held last evening. it was decided to adopt the Wednesday -holiday for the forthcoming year. The National Bank advised the receipts of gold duty for November amounted to £1147 10/. The town clerk was granted leave until 21st January on account of 111-health. Tenders were received for the supply of cast-iron pipes, water and mains, as fol/ows: Briscoe and Co.. £S101; A. Brittaln, £5353 (informal); E. Porter and Co., £0477 (accepted). Wrought-iron pipes; M. Ferguson, price accepted. £1075. Tenders for the erection of municipal buildings were received as follows: T. Maimer, £93S 9/9; Hutchison and Ludvig. £944; Mitchell and Eltringham, £940 15/; Manuix, £995.— was decided to adjourn the matter to next meeting, retaining Palmer's deposit. 1 The Finance reported that accounts to the- aiuojflftf £560 11/6 had | been passed for pay_Btt. and that the ; total debit was £0553 11/1. | It was decided to hold the next meeting ;of the council on 21st January. ! It was resolved that Mr Payne (Sanitary ; Inspector) retain his position till 21st Janu-
ary. The following councillors were appointed nominees of the council on the Hospital Board: The Mayor, Messrs Brown, Foster, Campbell, Henderson. Ryburn and Kate.
