GOOD TEMPLARY.
Last evening the Star of Newton. No.. 4 Lodge, held its thirtieth anniversary in Protestant Hall. Newton. Tea at __0 -was served out to a crowded gathering, ami this over, Bro. E. Lightfoot, Lodge Deputy, occupied the chair. In a short address the Chairman said he was pleased that this was the thirtieth time he had met the old facet? in that lodge, and he was also pleased that he still saw among the audience those who were first at its formation. They were doing a,good work quietly, a_x_ he hoped they would go on arid prosper. They had now about 120 members, and others had signified their intention of joining the lodge. He welcomed them, for they would all be useful when the crisis arrived. Bro. L. Wileock then addressed the meeting. He too had been present, at every anniversary since its foundation, and congratulated them on their success. The speaker was applauded throughout. The following programme was gona through: Tianoforte solo, Mr TV. Pureed; soug, Mr - Diamond; scng. Mr Atkinson; song. Miss Ramsay; song (comic), Mr McAuliffe (encored); whistling selection, Mr Leslie; song, Mr Higgott; song (comic), Mr Skerrett (encored); song (in costume), Misa Cummins (encored).
