WAIHI. this day. M_.'..in Dale, employed a 1 the Waihi Company's Waikino battery as a re-

pairer, was killed yesterday afternoon whilst engaged handling a heavy piece of timber, which fell, pinning him to the floor. Dale only lived a short time alter the accident. Dr Craig wus immediately summoned, and the unfortunate man was made as comfortable as possible in the plan-room of the battery, where he died. Dale was a foreigner,'and it is noi known whether he had any relations in the cc-.lony. He had been in Waihi some .years, employed in the Waihi bat lerv rope-splicing, etc. He was well-known in the district.
