GREY LYNN
The ordinary meeting of the Grey Lynn Council was held Monday. Present: The Mayor (Mr R. T. Warnock), Councillors A. Donald, J. Farrell, W. White, VV. Brinsden, R. C. Foster, R. Hall, C. McMaster. A. Parker, and J. Booth. The City Council wrote stating that there was no intention on the part of the Council of erecting the proposed
destructor on the abattoirs site. The Fire Underwriters' Association wrote stating thai; the Council's application with regard to a reduction of insurance rates in the borough would be considered at a meeting of the Underwriters' Association, to be held in February, 1903. The Streets Committee recommended that a charge of 5/ be made for the inspection by the borough inspector of private drains intended to be connected with the main drain. It was resolved that £6 be spent on temporary works at the corner of Surrey-street and Crummer-road. A special report with regard to the sanitary contract, and recommending that the price paid for the nightsoil service be fixed at 15/ per annum, was read and adopted.
