Mr l)..Whyte, of Tiniroto, has been asked to stand for the Hawke's Bay electorate. He is willing1 to do so if his expenses are guaranteed. Hia platform..would be to get the country from Hastings to Gisbome opened up by means of a two feet gauge light railway, and telephones where required.
