NIGHT WORK ON THE AUCKLAND DREDGE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Being invalided and more in need of a good night's rest than the average man, I shall be heartily glad when the dredge stops working .at night, or the Harbour Board invest in a little lubricating oil. How Auckland residents are affected I know not, but at Devonport the noise is like the roar and scream of a hundred wild and hungry lions, truly making night hideous even at a distance of two miles. —I am, etc., WIDEAWAKE.
