SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — I thank you for your leader on " School Holidays." The Board have certainly made a big mistake. This is surprising, as of late years they hav-3 generally acted very rationally. "Take your holidays often, though they be short," say the doctors.
"Let the children go for six months without a break," say the Board. Especially is the abandonment o£ the Michaelmas holiday a wrong to the children. More than one hundred schools are examined within three weeks of that holiday. Tlie.se schools used to arrange to take their holiday immediately after their examination. Just after the excitement of an annual examination the children need a break. Xow they won't get it. Clearly the Board have, made a mistake. 1 hope they will speedily go track to ihe old permissive regulations, which have worked well for eight years to my knowledge.—l am, etc.,
