Vocalist went twelve furlongs this morning in 2.49. Malster beat Paul Pry in a mile, run in 1.47. Advance' and Boreas galloped five furlongs in even time. La Carabine and Clean Sweep ran twelve furlongs in 2.47. Barbarossa did nine furlongs in 2.2 J. Fulminate ran five furlongs in 1.6, Finland a mile in 1.49, Dreamland and The Bride two miles in 3.46, Songbird and Verge six furlongs in 1.18, Fortune Teller six furlongs in 1.19, Watch Dog five furlongs in 1.8 (record).
Betting: 4 to 1 Wakeful, 5 to 1 Advance, I backed for £3000, 9 to 1 Watch Dog, backed for £5000, 10 to 1 Fulminate, backed for £3000, 16 to 1 Malster, 20 to 1 Man of Hon-*----our, backed for £4000, 20 to 1 Marie Corelli, Fortune Teller and Songbird, 25 to 1 So Long, 50 to 1 Paul Pry. Cup: No betting. The odds offered are 5 to 1 each Finland and Malster.'
