FIRE AT TE AROHA.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
TE AROHA, this day.
On Wednesday night another fire broke out in a block of buildings owned by Mr W .Edwards, occupied by Mr May, draper, and Mr McGregor, grocer, in Whitaker-street, Te Aroha. The brigade was quickly on the spot and succeeded in confining the flames to these two buildings, although it was thought at one time the ''News" office adjoining, which had a narrow escape several days ago, must go. The insurances are as follow:—Edwards, £450 on the building in the Royal Company, and £400 on the stock in the North British Company. McGregor, £200 on stock in the Royal Company and £200 in the Victoria company. Much of the drapery and some of tlie grocery stock is salvable. The drapery business has just been taken over 'by Mr J. W. May, who entered in possession only two days previously. The policy On the stock had not been actually transferred at the time of the fire.
