AUCKLAND ANNIVERSARY REGATTA
Last evening a general meeting of the committee of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta was held in the Waitemata Hotel, Mr C. B. Stone presiding. Favourable reports were presented in regard to tluance. The programme for the regatta on Anniversary Day was revised as follows:—Scow race, open handicap yacht race, fishing boats (handicap), all-comers handicap (excluding trading vessels;, naif-decked keel or centreboard boats -Oft over all, yachts I.4ft. unear rating-, fishing boats (centreboard) tuck-stern (handicap), patikis (handicap), maiden gigs under 10 stove, naval cutters (handicap), maiden gigs (open), junior gigs under 10 stone, junior gigs (open), senior gigs, ladies' pair-oar (.handicap), scamp o.iCiggei-, greasy boom, costume wbnlebout race, water tournament, duckhunt, Corfu dive, cigar and umbrella race, yachts' cruising di-ngies, boys' dingies (pulled by boys under 10 years), tin-whistle race. It was decided that entries be received on the night of January 22, post entries to be received for all side-shows and for vessels out of port on entry night. Subcommittees were elected to deal with the flagship and tenders, aud also for the sideshows. It was resolved to write to Mr John Wiseman, commodore of the Auckland Yacht Club, asking 'him to take the position of judge of the sailing races. The appointment of judges of rowing races and s de-shows was left over in the meantime.
