THi-; PROPOSED *DISCOXTIXUAACI3 OP SEXio.ll CHAM ITOXSHIP CRICKET FIXTURES.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—The team to represent Auckland tit this season's interprovincial fixtures has been chosen, and I notice that five representatives have been chosen from the ranks of Parnell, four from United, one from Auckland, one from Ponsonby, and one from Northern Wairoa. It is not my intention to criticise the selection, but to enter a protest against the decision of the committee in suspending the Senior Championship fixtures during the Southern tour. If the committee do not wish to destroy interest in the local competitions they should certainly alter their decision. It is really only the Parnell and United teams that will be affected by the absence of their players. Why not, then, adjust the senior matches to suit existing circumstanc.es? I trust this will be done, as otherwise great dissatisfaction will, I am sure, be felt amongst the senior players, and Auckland cricket will suffer accordingly.—l am, etc.,
