THE ALLUVIAL FIND.
SITUATED.CLOSE TO TE PUKE,
CLAIMS PEGGED OUT,
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)
TAURANGA, this day,
„ A reported gold find in Mangarewa stream is 'causing considerable stir here. ' The spot is situated south of Te Puke, about eight miles further back in the hills, behind Fleming's Reef, and five or six from the most southerly claims pegged out in the IS9O boom. Two prospecting claims have been pegged out'by-Hamilton men. Considerable quantities of coarse pellets of gold have been brought out from the neighbourhood before by Te Puke men, but it seems the present tinders struck a richer spot, which is easily reached from the Taura.nga-Rotorua Road by a new track going east from Te Puke, the claims being about five miles off the road from the Te Puke side.
