Lot 13-BROWN FILLY, by St. Leger (imp), dam Forme, by Nordenfeldt out of Formo, by Sterlingworth (imp) out of imp. Pulchra, by Rosicrucian out of the great English Formosa. Forme the dam of this filly were great performers at all weights and distances, and is the dam of Formosan, the winner of the North Island Challenge Stakes, beating Advance, also of Cruciform, a promising filly. Her grandmother, Formo, is the dam of Uniform, Forma, Multiform, and brilliant performers. Bay Bess is own sister to that good performer Woodstock, Brown Bess was a winner of five races in New South Wales. Lot 16-BROWN FILLY, by Hotchkiss dam Agnes, by St. Leger out of Lovebird (imp), by Macaroni. This filly is particularly well grown; her breeding is sufficient recommendation. Hilda is the dam of Antares, winner of the Takapuna Cup 200sovs, Sylvia Handicap 200sovs, Victoria Handicap, Auckland Cup 1000 soys, A.R.C. Handicap Hurdles, Napier Park Hurdles; and Fulmen, winner of Otago Cup. This colt is -well furnished, and has immense quarters and splendid legs, and should uphold the family reputation. Armilla, the dam of this colt, was also a great performer. Won the Canterbury Oaks, A.R.C. Musket Stakes, Nursery Handicap, Wanganui Two-year-old Stakes, and the Wanganui J.C. Nursery Handicap, and the Wellington Exhibition Handicap and Shorts the same day, and also the Napier Park Railway Handicap.
