The Union Steamship Company's Southern Cross arrived here this morning, having ben running for the past three years between the Society Islands and;the Paumotu ,'ancl Marquesas Group, under the French flag* Itis understood that the French Government will renew the contract, but the Kia Ora will replace the Southern Cross.
