KAURI GUM MARKET.
AUCKLAND, Wednesday,
The kauri gum market has continued quiet throughout the past month only o-ood grades of gum selling, and not much of that, as supplies are short. Poor stuff met with little enquiry, and stocks are accumulating. Supplies of o-um for the five days of December total 95 tons, and for the month of November 635 tons, just three tons more than the quantity received durin°- October. Exports since last mail (October 27) are:-To Europe per Elino-amite, five tons, Talune 15 tons, Wakanui 148 tons. Maori 113. tons, Fiffel Tower 19 tons, Kakaia 41 tons, Elingamite 13 tons, Talune 12 tons.
ITo Xew York, per Alice. 580 tons. YYakanui, via London, five tons, and Eiffel Tower 15 tons. Total, 96G tons. ; Supplies of gum from mail to mail (.six weeks) are about 884 tons. Quotations are nominally as foljlow: — | Poor ordinary £35 to £42 j Fair ord'nary £45 to £50 I Good ordinary £52 to £62 i Superior ordinary .£7O to £80 | East Ccsst £73 upwards
