As a lour year old, ne won the Shorts and the Summer Handicap at the Taranaki Hack Meeting, and later won the T.J.C. Autumn Handicap. At Eilerslie, he won the St. George's Handicap, and next the Thompson Handicap (beating the Hying St. Clements), and Autumn Handicap, besides the Flying Handicap. In his five year old season he won the Spring- and Flying Handicaps at Eilerslie, won the Flying at VVan-g-anui, and pulled off the Electric "Plate, at weight for age, at Rieearton, doing the 4 furlongs in 47.1 see.1 At Eilerslie, he won the Railway Handicap. Next season (at (i years), he won the Shorts at Eilerslie, the Pearcc & Mutt Park Spring Handicaps tit Wellington, and also the Great Autumn Handicap at Riccarton. 1 The next season he won the New Zealand ; Cup with 5.6, ran second in the Metro- ; politan Handicap with 0.7. made Multl- : form gallop for VI mile in the Canterbury Cup, carried 9.12 into sqcond place ■in the Auckland Cup. was second with 0.13 in the Wanganui Cup, won the Wellington Thompson Handicap with 10.3. and finished second with 10.7 in the Autumn Handicap. Up to the time Waiuku was shipped to England, his record comes out thus: — G5 starts, 22 wins. 10 seconds, _4 thirds, 23 times unplaced; stakes won, £3910. The facts constitute their own eulogy. OKOAJRI, at three years, won the Taranaki Hack Derby, First Taranaki Hack Race, and Second Hack Rade, also the Stratford Cup and Imlay Hack Race at Wanjctinul Jubilee Meeting. At four years. Okoari failed to win 1 race. At five years, she won the Owen Stakes at Wanganui, the Flying Handicap at the Hutt, Flying Handicap at Taranaki, Waimate Handicap* at Egmont, and Hutt Handicap at Wellington Autumn.
