IMPORTANT FIND NEAR EOTOBUA.

'An "important alluvial gold field is reported.'toThg/ve beeri: discovered in the Rotorua djstriet by an old Thames miner, Mr. W. Tilsley. Gold was found in a creek in sand resembling TaranaM iron sand, ar«d a small parcel tested by Mr. C. J. Ratjen, of Auckland, assayed £60 10/ per ton. Speci.me'ns;of ithe sand were on view here .to-day. They show coarse lumps of water-worn "gold. There is said to be thousands; of tons ,of sand where this sample was taken from.
