LICENSING COMMITTEE.
PARNELL.
The quarterly meeting of the Parnell Licensing- Committee was he]d today at the Borough Council Chambers. All the members were present except Mr Lumpkin, who apologised for nonattendance owing to a recent t accident. Mr H. W. Brabant, S.M., presided.
Transfers.—The following- transfers were granted: 7—Alexandra Hotel, from John O'Kullivan to John Dennis MeCartie; Captain Cook Hotel, Edward Darby to Frances Ellen Hamilton.
Royal George Hotel.—The police reported that Patrick Cooney, the licensee, had been found drunk on his premises on September 6th. The licensee appeared before the committee and admitted the charge.- Mr.McColl spoke very strongly in favour of the licensee, and stated that he was not likely to offend again.. The Bench pointed out that under section 7G of the Licensing Act they could terminate the license if further complaint was made against the licensee. With this caution the matter was allowed to dropl Newmarket Hotel.—The police complained at the' June meeting of the Committee that the licensee of this hotel, Jolm' Gillander, was suspected of Sunday trading.' They tiow reiterated the .complaint. ■ The Committee cautioned the licensee and pointed out that tliey could terminate his' license under, Section ,76 of the Act if the house was improperly conducted.
