A LATE SITTING.
WELLINGTON, this day,
Class 2, which had been under consideration from'three yesterday afternoon, was finished at 2 a.m., no alteration being effected.
Class 3, Treasurer's .Department, £42,987, was passed almost without question, On the House considering class 9, Department of Labour, £SOll, Mr Ell moved to reduce the vote of £335 for the chief clerk by £1, as an indication of disapproval of that officer's interference in election matters.
On division the amendment was lost by 34 to 13, and the item was passed. ■ The remainder of the class was adopted without amendment. • It being now 25 minutes past 3, the Premier proposed that the House should adjourn until 11 a.ni,, in order to complete the estimates. A protest was made by several members against the proposiil, and the Tremier then suggested making it noon. This was objected to, so finally the Premier consented to make it two o'clock, at which time the House will proceed forthwith to the further consideration of the estimates.
