DONALD MACDONALD.

In spite of the very unfavourable wea« ther, there was another good audience at the Opera House last evening-, when Mt Donald Macdonald repeated his lecture on "The Siege of Ladysmith." Last evening was Mr Macdonald's fifth appearance, yet the interest displayed was as keen as ever, and the lecturer's hold over his audience wks strong from start to finish. Tha humours and sorrows of the grim siega wero told In his usual Inimitable way, and everybody prespnt must have felt, after hearing the lecture, warmer admiration for Sir George White and his gallant soldiers. The agonising suspense of the garrison and their joy when their relief came, culminating in the historic words, "Thank God we've kept the flag flying," were finely pourtrayed.

To-night he will deliver his last lecture, which will be culled from his three lectures, "Scenes and Sensations o.f Battle," "The Siege of Ladysmith," and "On Tugela Heights." This lecture will thus include all the gems of the lecturer's repertoire, and as it is Mr Macdonald's last appearance, there should be a very, large audience.
