EESIGNATION OF ME GBEEN-
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
THAMES, this day,
The Mayor (Mr Greenslade), at last night's meeting of the Borough Council, intimated his intention at the next meeting to resign his office, in consequence of having purchased a farm at Ohaupo, where he intends taking up his residence. Councillors expressed a Seep regret at the announcement, it being generally recognised that Mr Greenslade's occupancy of the Mayoral chair for the last 16 months had been attended with satisfactory results to the district.
