LONDON, November"9.
Under the division of the Gold.Coast Neutral Zone, Great Britaim retains Gambaga and Mamprisi; Germany takes Yendi and Chakosi. It is also provided that Germany shall renounce extra territorial jurisdiction over the protectorate of. Zanzibar. The American Government, while, not opposing the arrangement for the partition of Samoa, intimate that they would have preferred Great Britain to Germany as a neighbour. Generally speaking the tone of the German press indicates that the arrangement' is satisfactory to Germans.
The British press approves of the agreement, presupposing that the Governments of Australasia were consulted before the arrangements were completed.
Some consider the settlementstrengthens the British stratagetic position, and in addition removes the only clement of friction with Germany.
