At the Bathurst intercolonial bapd contest the marching competition, in which there were .nine competitors, was won by Code's (Melbourne) .Baiia with 136 points, the Wellington Garftson Band being- fifth, with 128 points. Tbe New Zealanders marched well. They tied Code's . Band' in- the points for music, but lost nine points on the ground that nine of the bandsmen were unshaved. The first-class championship contest, in which the Neff Zealanders were engaged, will bectnv eluded to-night. So far. the HillgroVfl Band hrs.s a long lead.
