The weather for the second day of the C.J.C. Spring1 Meeting: was dull, and the attendance fair. The racing- was interesting, and Seahorse's win in the Derby was very popular. Tho totalisator investments for the day amounted to £14,----211, as compared with £14,590 for the same day of last year.

Birthday fell at the hurdle in front of the stand, his rider sutaining such severe injuries that his life is despaired of. Time, 3.22 2-5. Dividend £1. Running ; out of the straight and passing Cutts* Seahorse made the pace a cracker, and ran two lengths- in front of Sant Ilario, with Miss Delaval a similar distance away third. Down the b»<~< and round;
the ton turn the same order -was maintained. At the four furlongs post Seahorse was five lengths in front of Sant Ilario, and though the latter decreased the gap in the run home. A capital start saw Battleaxe, first away, the rest close together. Passing Cutts' Battleaxe and Huku were together, and Rubin and Malatua the next pair. At the mile post Huku had supplanted Battleaxe in the lead, with Malatua at the latter's girths, and Cameo and Tauhei next. Malatua went to the front sewn furlongs from homr?. his! nearest attendants being Huku, Cameo j and Rubin. The last n.imefl was iust ahead of Explosion n.nd Battleaxe. Then cam? Ful'men and Djin t>jin. Malatua retained the command all round the top, Huku lying next, Explosion coming fast on the outside, and Fulroen making a forward move. Well in the straight Malatua and Explosion were running side by side, and after a capital, struggle Explosion fore-ed to the front, and won by a bare length, with-Fulmeh the same dis. tfinco away third. Then followed D.iin, Tauhei, Huku and Skobeloff in the ordet named. Time, 2.3S 4-5.. Dividend, £6 2/6. SELLING TWO YEAR OLD PLATE of lOOsovs. Four furlongs. 4—Mr H. A.
