Two first offenders were discharged with a caution, and another was fined .">«, or in default 24 hours' hard labour. Norah Williams and . Elizabeth Doherfy were each fined 10s and costs or in default. 48 hours" hard labour for second offences of drunkenness. A man named John .Johnson, for a 'seventh-offence of drunkenness within six months, was sent to gaol for one month. Patrick Vincent Davies, charged with stealing" £1, the property of Thos. Watt, pleaded not guilty, and at his own request was remanded until to-morrow, bail being- allowed, himself in £15 and one surety in a like amount. William Williams■ was sentenced "to seven days' hard labour for stealing a coat value 4s, which Robert McLure had put down while working. The Magistrate remarked it was a very impudent theft. Henry J. Atkins was charg*ed with having on the Bth of November stolen two specimens of gum valued at £G. On the application of Chief Detective Grace a. remand was granted till next Wednesday. *
