GALE AT THE BARRIER.
SEVERAL BUILDINGS WRECKED. A message from D. N. McMillan, depot keeper of the Great Barrier Pigeongram Agency at Okupu, states: "Terrible gales were experienced here on Wednesday and Thursday. The wind completely wrecked a large new iron store and all its contents; also my house and the houses of several miners. The gale is the worst ever known at the island."
