Better weather resulted in the chrysanthemum show at the Choral Hajll being well patronised to-day. Th*e really ■.magnificent display of blooms was much admired by visitors, and the innovation in the shape of fully equipped dinner tables was greatly appreciated. During the afternoon tea ws& supplied to visitors by the members of the Ladies' Committee, and Mr ,T. P. Hooton contributed selections on the organ. This evening Mr Everton'a string band will be in attendance. The show will be again open to-morrow.
The St. George's Rowing- Club annual ball will be held on May 11. An energetic committee has been appointed, and it is expected that the ball will be as great a success as on former occasions.
The Auckland Banjo, Guitar, and Mandolin Club's concert will be given on Monday next at the Opera Hoxise. The vocalists are Miss Ethel Mclntyre, Mr M. Hamilton Hodges, and Mr Arthur Ford. Mr S. E. Coleman. gives a recitation, and Dr. De Clive Lowe a ventriloquism sketch. The instrumental solos are by Mr Chas. McFarlane (banjo) and Mr Geo. Rowe (mandolin), in addition to which there will be a quintette and five choice selections by the full strength of the Club. Mr Arthur Towsey will conduct. The stage decorations are under the supervision of Miss Mcllhone. The box-plan is open at Messrs Wildman and Lyell's.
