WOODSTOCK RETURN.
£2367 FOR THE MONTH
This old Karangabake mine is steadily increasing its monthly return. In August the output was £657, but this month's yield from 1000 tons of ore totalled up to £2367. Last month 1000 tons yielded £1928, so it is evident that the average value of the ore is better this time. Evidently the alteration in the system of treating the ore is turning out satisfactorily.
At the above company's mine operations are proceeding as usual, tne only new work undertaken being the sti*at of a crosscut with the object/of picked up lode recently intersected by the Talisman Company at their No. 7 level. This lode is 7 feet wide and of good value, and as it has been met right on the Woodstock boundary, its discovery should be of considerable value to the latter company. The crosscut is now in the locality of the lode. At the battery the excavations are nearing completion for the erection of a large ore bin, which when finished will save a considerable amount of handling of the ore. The manager is also putting In hydraulic sizers as concentration adjuncts to the vanners. The extraction hos been considerably improved, and a further improvement is exr>ppted when the whole p'Jant is Avorking.
