A RECORD YIELD

£24,123 FROM 7759 TONS

Record breaking appears to be the fashion this month. Following upon record returns being obtained from the Waitekauri and Talisman mines, the Waihi mine has also this month eclipsed all its former records. During the past month 7759 tons, of ore were treated for a return of bullion valued at £24,123. This is a record yield. The next largest yield was that of August, wheu 6821 tons of ore yielded £23,449, so that the present return is £674 ahead of any yet obtained from this mine. The output for the past eleven months totala £215115, as against £144,040 for the whole of 1897."
