GORED BY A COW.

DUNEDIN, November 23

At the inquest on Mrs Collins, who died from being gored by a cow, evidence was given by some girls to the effect that the cow went after Mrs Collins on the footpath; but the boy in charge of the cow swore that the animal wos grazing in the gutter when Mrs Collins in passing raised her apron to drive the cow away. The animal then tossed its head and caused the injuries. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that deceased met her death from injuries sustained by being gored by a cow, the property of Jas. Stevens, and added a rirler that it was carelessness on the pnrt of J'as. Stevens not to direct the boy to lead the cow with a rope instead of driving it.
