DROWNING FATALITIES.

MAETON,. November 22.

Mr Arch Campbell, son of A. T. Campbell, of Mangaweka, was drowned while attempting to ford the Rangitikei River on horseback opposite the -township yesterday afternoon. The horse stumbled and Mr Campbell, who had his Jegss lifted up out of the water, was thrown into the river. He swam a short distance and then sank. The body has not been found yet. The low level bridge erected by the Government at this point was broken by the last flood, CHRISTCHURCH, November 22. A child two years of age named Thomas Hampton, was accidentally drowned in a water hole at Templeton yesterday.
