A man named James MeNeiee, aged 62, residing-af Waibtahi'Creek,- nidi with a sad and painful death on Saturday night by drinking' the contents of abottle; containing^ carbolic acid,in mistakefor a bottle of beer which he had- brought home and placed in a tool box where- the carbolic acid was kept. At the inquest the .fury returned a verdict tQ the effect that deceased was. acujidentaly poisoned by taking carbolic acid in mistake for beer.
